Possessive Clitics
To say “my / your / his”, Greek uses the weak genitive clitics μου, σου, του / της placed AFTER the noun: το σπίτι μου = “my house” (literally “the house of-me”). They are the same genitive series you met for possession in Module 4 - “of the teacher” (του δασκάλου) and “his / its” (του) share the genitive idea.
The rule
To say “my / your / his”, Greek uses the weak genitive clitics placed after the noun: μου / σου / του (της for “her”), plural μας / σας / τους. το σπίτι μου = “my house” (literally “the house of-me”). These are the same genitive series as noun possession in Module 4 - το σπίτι του δασκάλου (“the teacher’s house”) shrinks to το σπίτι του (“his house”).
