The Productive Passive - the Whole Tense Picture

The PASSIVE is the mediopassive voice doing its first job: the subject RECEIVES the action. «Ο δάσκαλος ετοιμάζει το μάθημα» (active - the teacher prepares the lesson) becomes «Το μάθημα ετοιμάζεται» (passive - the lesson is prepared). Module 9 gave you the passive in the PRESENT (ετοιμάζεται), IMPERFECT (ετοιμαζόταν) and AORIST (ετοιμάστηκε). This module completes the picture with the three missing tenses - the FUTURE passive (θα ετοιμαστεί), the PERFECT passive (έχει ετοιμαστεί) and the PLUPERFECT passive (είχε ετοιμαστεί) - and adds the AGENT phrase (από + accusative - «από τον δάσκαλο») that names the doer. Every one of these forms is the mediopassive you already know; only the tense is new. The whole voice, all six tenses, one system.

The rule

Every form is the mediopassive you already know - only the tense is new.

Future passive: θα + the perfective non-active stem ετοιμαστ- (from the aorist ετοιμάστηκα). θα is an uninflected particle, never stored. Stress falls on the ending. ("be prepared / get ready")
Future passive (θα ετοιμαστούμε): stem ετοιμαστ- + the stressed ending -ούμε.
Future passive (θα ετοιμαστείς): stem ετοιμαστ- + the stressed ending -είς.
Future passive (θα ετοιμαστείτε): stem ετοιμαστ- + the stressed ending -είτε.
